Plantation Wedding

The following wedding was shot in Tarboro, North Carolina at the Coolmore Plantation Home. Coolmore Plantation is an Italianate Antebellum Plantation House built in 1858-1861. The house was designed by Baltimore architect E.G. Lind for J.J.W and Martha Powell. I was recently lucky enough to shoot the Jones Wedding there on November 7th 2012. Beautiful original furniture inhabit all of the rooms along with the original plasterwork. The main hall of the building has a incredible spiral staircase and fresco curving wall adorned with trompe-l’oeil paneling. This incredible space is skylit and the top floor is ablaze with the light that shines through the endless panels of stained glass. In one word : Stunning. Cotton fields surround the home along with a series of the original out buildings. It has, in all, a very fairytale feel from a time long ago... now just add a beautiful bride in a vintage wedding dress and you have perfection! Don't forget that rockin' 1959 Corvette that was in attendance (wink)
